The day has dawned, the skies have cleared, an Indian summer day appears. The deer is near and soon returning for a nibble, to rest and chew his cud under the Granny Smith tree. The ground squirrel barks at the neighbor's tiger cat prowling in the woodpile. A jaybird squawks to secure his young. Could a day get any better than this? Surrounded by God's earthy creatures busy with their lives...little souls interacting in the greatness of life...each playing his or her part.
Looking out my window, the persimmon tree ripens getting ready for the pudding that delights or the cookies to be crunched...yummy thoughts of happy days past...my mother's favorite...shared with friends...long gone now...but living in memory....the past becomes the present and the future.
The Future

What a day spent at a local doll show....seeing the wonderful creations of favorite artists filling me with longing...a brewing, churning energy no longer dormant but chomping at the bit to get out! That familiar urge to let the power take charge...go with the flow...only held back by indecision and ennui...oh, to have the freedom from chains, barriers, promises, duties, commitments, obligations, time...to be free to let the internal fluid - energy flow...
The weather is changing with a hint of a new season. Has summer passed and we almost missed it? The green shades turning...mellow yellow, burnt orange, ocher hints appearing...
Time is fleeting...it will be another new day.

Dolls, dolls, and more dolls.....
Have discovered a wonderful dollmaker Berdine Creedy and have gone wild for her creations....little girls with little curls and simple dresses, natural clothing. Rosey cheeks, wondrous eyes and succulent lips...these little girls are like a daughter that we never had. They will keep my hands busy creating garments to delight.
Reminiscent of days gone by when life was slower, days were longer, life was good and full of pure innocence, like a garden coming into bloom, a cool but warming season....before the awakening...before the knowledge...but looking to the future...

For someone who is not used to writing, this is quite a challenge. I work with my hands....but not usually with words....unless a poem is inspired. At one time... when I fell in love...I wrote lots of poems....mostly about love. Even when I fell out of love....I wrote lots of poems...about the sadness of lost love. Wonder why that seemed easier than writing this blog. Perhaps let's start with a reason that I ever started a blog...my darling niece! She blogs and pours her heart out. What a wonderful time she is experiencing in her life right now. Although she may at times be frustrated, a person's years from 21 - 30 are great years to explore and find yourself. Although it took me a bit longer, that is to say....I am still exploring and trying to find myself. This is a lifetime exploration. There is always something new to discover about others and yourself. It just takes you a lifetime to figure this out. In your 20's you think you know everything but when you turn 30, you are absolutely sure! Then, 40's come along and the world starts to look a little different. And so it goes....into the future...
